Testing, testing, I'm just suggesting: You and I might just be the best thing.
Oh, sure, the flowers were supposed to be for helping him save and restore stories, but there was no rule that Wembley had heard which said he couldn't have fun with them in-between tales. A spiral of flowers wound over the hill, tapering off where he was relaxing with Gobo. With a little chuckle, Wembley chained another circle of flowers together and slung it over Gobo's nose. Aside from one small bracelet that had ended up on Wembley's own wrist, every flower ring he'd made that day had ended up somewhere on Gobo.

He all but dove forward, arms wrapping around Wembley in an embrace, momentum carrying them both to the ground. But he didn't care, he was full of love and relief and LOVE and he was kissing him and that's all he wanted.

This was exactly where he wanted to be.

"I don't even know what to say, Wembley. I kinda wish I'd figured it out sooner," he said with a light laugh, "but I'm glad I figured it out now."

"Me, too, Gobo. I love you."
Oh, and actually saying it was a whole 'nother wonderful thing... He wanted to say that to Gobo every day, for the rest of forever. And he was going to be able to, too.

Oh, he could get used to that. He laughed a bit and pulled him into another tight, happy hug.

"I'm glad we're both here... Really glad."
no subject
"Yeah. Me too."

"Good. And you'll never have to know what it's like without me around, either."
no subject
"I know," he responded, deciding it was okay not to know what Gobo was doing. This moment was so... Sweet. "You've always been there for me."
no subject
"It's like that song I sang once. You can count on me."

Then his smile softened and he nodded. "Thank you, Gobo. You can count on me, too."
no subject
"I know, and I'm really glad I know, too."

"Yeah! Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?"

He smiled, and he couldn't help it, he kissed him again.

"That's that," he repeated once they'd parted.

He had a feeling it wouldn't be a problem, though.

"That was great!"
no subject
"Thanks, Gobo! I'm glad you liked it."

"Hey, so now what do you wanna do, eh? We've got the rest of the day in front of us." And that night, and the following week, and on forever.

"...We can find something to eat?"
no subject
"Sure! That sounds like a great idea."

While not fully aware that he was asking Gobo out - more of a clueless Wembley thing than a Fraggle culture thing, there - he did know that going to a place with Gobo and spending time together that way would be really nice.

But there was something different about it now. For all the closeness they had before, there was just... more. An extra little glow of warmth to it, that he never imagined could be there with Wembley. That made whatever this now was- hanging out, dating, all of the above -even better.

It was true; they'd already been always together. This was both a minor change and a major difference, the way Wembley saw it. On the surface level, the same best pals they'd always been, but now they could kiss. But deeper than that, there was something else that was different, something he couldn't explain but was so, so happy about.
