The rain rain rain came down down down...
It was a good day to be inside, that was for sure.
"Sorry about your trip, Unca Scrooge..."
Although Louie was very glad it at least wasn't a thunderstorm. The rain was coming down hard, but without thunder and lightning, they were okay to stand by the kitchen window and watch - it was kind of cool-looking, in a way, everything blurred by the rainfall. Even inside the manor, though, the cold of the day's weather could be felt, which was less than cool. Louie pulled his hood up over his head - it still kind of smelled like the soap Boober had washed it with, and that got a nostalgic smile out of him. Sure, that day had been stressful, but all's well that ends well, right? He pulled the hood further down his face, until it was nearly covering his eyes, and inhaled deeply.

And then she took his hand. He looked down, wondering a moment at the peculiar feeling that went up his arm at that. Safe, happy, affectionate, all wrapped up into one. Gobo turned his head to meet her eyes as she likewise turned toward him, and that inner feeling reached his heart and exploded all over, filling him up with a warmth better than dunking into that bathwater. Comforting, secure...
Love.
He smiled, laughing gently, placing his over hand over hers.
"All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here, suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go"
Lifting his head, their voices rang together.
"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted..."

"And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new..."
Again, they sang together.
"And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you...
Now that I see you."

No, none of that mattered. Like she didn't regret the time spent in the Rock before leaving, he didn't regret the time before he realized how she felt. How he felt. All that mattered was the way it was right now, in this moment between the two of them.
But, suddenly, he found himself a bit tongue-tied. Sure, admitting in song was one thing, but actually saying something-? He swallowed, and he felt himself get a little red under the fur. "Ah- Mokey, I..." He raised a hesitant hand, then smiled and brushed it along her cheek. Maybe words wouldn't be needed. Leaning forward, he nuzzled along her snout, lingered there nearly cheek to cheek, breathing the moment in. His hand, still on hers, laced fingers, and he leaned back enough that he could kiss her.

"Me, too, Gobo," she whispered, giving his hand a squeeze. "You... You make me happy."

And realized that no, they weren't completely alone out here. All of a sudden he felt a tight, self-conscious knot in the pit of his stomach, and he definitely went red as he cleared his throat, looking up and away.

"Hello, Louie. Hello, Scrooge." There was nothing to be embarrassed about in her book, as she nuzzled her snout against Gobo's as he'd done to her just seconds ago. They were her and Gobo's friends - they would only be happy for them, of course. "Oh, Gobo, it's alright," she whispered into his ear, before she kissed him.

"Aye, we saw, and I'm sorry if it seems an intrusion," that last bit to Gobo specifically, before he shifted to bring them both into that smile, "but I'm glad that I did see it." He dipped his head respectfully. "I certainly wish you two many, many happy days together."

Somewhere beneath all the emotion and flusteredness of the moment, Louie couldn't help feeling smug. He knew it.

"This is where I've belonged all along - with you."

"Just call if you need anythin'. We'll be downstairs."

"Yeah... I feel the same way."

"Look at how beautiful the moon is tonight. It's like it knew," she said quietly, glancing up to the sky. "The moon is for us, tonight, Gobo."
