Every sunrise brings me more and more, so much to explore
"Okay, let's see... I headed east from Rhyming Rock that day..."
Gobo was poring over his maps, ready to fill out a new part onto one. He tapped his pencil against the page as he tried to recall- Ah!
...Ah.
"Right, and that was as far as I got before the doozers' construction work stopped me. Hmm." He scrunched his snout up in clear annoyance, tapping the pencil harder and more quickly, now. "Guess there's nothing for me to add, after all..."

"Gobo! Guess what I found! I found a really neat place and and I wanted to ask if it was on your maps!"

And then Wembley said that. Now he had Gobo’s full attention, as the fraggle’s head whipped up so quickly you’d swear it made a sound.
“Yeah, Wembley? What did ya find?” he asked, with an eager grin.

"It's really cool! I don't know what it's called but you know when sometimes you're in the water and you go underneath it and you take up a mouthful and spit it out? Like that, but just the spitting part! And the one doing the spitting is the cave floor! Doesn't that sound amazing?"

He rolled up the map he'd been working on and grabbed his pack off of the cave wall. "Show me the way!"
no subject
"This way, Gobo!"
It wouldn't be accurate to say Wembley led him unerringly to the special cave. There were a few other missteps and missed turns but finally, at last, they came down a lush tunnel that smelled of clear spring water. It opened up into a cave that had a few small waterfalls at different levels, feeding into each other and then down into pools. The middle "platform" of the cave had some cracks in it, and it was at these that Wembley pointed eagerly, looking between them and Gobo and back again and back again, waiting to see his reaction.

There was no denying, however, that the cave Wembley took them to wasn't on his maps! Gobo grinned and set down his pack, then did a small doubletake and glanced at Wembley-- Where was the geyser?
But Wembley sure looked expectant, so Gobo kept his eyes fixed on the cracks- And was rewarded before long with a squirt of water in his face. Geysers may not have been the most accurate term, they were more like- Well, exactly like Wembley had described. It looked just like the cave floor was spitting out water in little bursts, and he laughed delightedly as he shook the water out of his hair and fur.
"Well, would ya look at that!"

"It's really cool, isn't it!" He went over to one of the pools and leaned over, looking at his ripply reflection. "I wonder how no one has found this place yet?"
no subject
"I'm not sure, Wembley," he admitted as he shrugged off his backpack. "But you found it, now, so I can add it to my map! --Oh! And Wembley, you get to name the place, now!"
Oh no. He knew the moment he spoke the words that they may well have been a mistake... Wembley trying to pick anything was likely to take hours.

He did indeed stand there for a minute or two, but then he looked around with a bright smile. "I know just what to call it. Crystal Falls. Like the Crystal Caverns? It's a secret place, and look how clear the water is!"
He giggled some, kneeling down and waving his fingers through the pool. "And well... I found this too. So it should match."
no subject
But Wembley surprised him by offering up a name before he could even get started on the map, and Gobo's smile grew at what he'd chosen.
"I'd say that's the perfect name for this place, yeah."

Coming back over, he wiped his hand dry on his shirt and then plopped down beside Gobo, to watch him draw the map. He kept quiet so his best friend could concentrate, because this was a momentous occasion! ...Well, alright. Mostly quiet. There was some soft humming, as he wagged his tail across the ground behind him. But he was just so happy! It was hard to keep it wholly inside.

He was always trying to do right by his friends, and Gobo couldn't help feeling that he needed to be more that way, himself. Might as well start now, eh? Once he finished up the map's addition and set his pencil down, he looped an arm around Wembley's shoulders.
"Good job, Wembley. I'm really impressed!"
no subject
"Aww, really Gobo?"

Wembley headed to the end of one pool, pausing to watch the mini-geyser as it spat up again. "It's amazing to think about. Not just finding and naming this place, but that it exists. I wonder what makes the water go up like that? Or how long the waterfalls have been going to have the rock look all smooth and shiny like that?" Rather than swim, at least right away, he sat down at the pool and dipped his legs in. It was delightfully chilly, which sent a little shiver up his spine with a giggle. "That's more than I can figure out! But it's fun to think about anyway, isn't it?"

He got back to his feet, thought for a moment... He'd seen Wembley's shiver, but if the water was cold, there was really one best way to get used to it, he felt. So Gobo took a few steps back then made a running leap and in he went.
It was chilly, yes, but he was still grinning when he bobbed his head back up to the surface.
