While none of her Fraggle form's little quirks carried over, it was hard to deny that those first couple of days after gaining it - during which she'd been stuck as a Fraggle - had effected her. It was in little ways, but... For example, being in nature was something she appreciated more after that adventure. Lying outside like she was now, stretched out on her front and idly running blades of grass through her fingers - it was nice.

Besides, once Gobo stopped by, they'd probably end up outside anyway, so waiting for him out here saved energy.

She was waiting in Louie's yard, because Gobo still wasn't quite sold on Scrooge, but they probably wouldn't be sticking around the whole time, anyway. After all, Gobo liked to roam, and Lexi liked to show him around the town she loved so much.

The first hint Gobo was around might be a slight rustle in the grass, though that could've just as easily been the breeze or a squirrel. His shadow fell over her a split second before he leaned over sideways to look at her face, grinning.

"Hey there!" A couple paps atop her head with his tail as an affectionate greeting. "Enjoyin' the day, eh?"

"Yeah," she sighed, contentedly, as she rolled onto her back, and... Eh, the rest of getting up would come eventually. "How's yours been?"

Well if she's not getting up, then he's getting down. He turned and sat beside her stomach, leaning back against her and crossing his ankles, resting his head back atop her middle.

"It was alright! The park was pretty quiet today so I had a swim," which would account for the extra floofiness to his hair, "though after some people came by with their hairy monsters- dogs," after a correction from Lexi, "and started throwing around toys I snuck out by the bridge. Hung around in a tree for a while until I dried off enough to come here."

She smiled softly as he settled in. "Doesn't sound half-bad. You know, Louie's out of town for a few days, and Donald's working or something, I think. You wanna just chill here for a while?"

"Yeah sure, why not? I'm still a little worn out from swimming for a while." Even as semi-aquatic as Fraggles were, it still took energy and he needed to recoup his. Wiggling his shoulders a bit he settled more against her, closing his eyes and smiling.

"I'm good right here."

Lexi gave his hair a little scruffle. "Yeah, and I just did the whole rolling over thing," she joked.

For a while, it was quiet between them, which was nice until Lexi's mind started to wander to the subject she'd been waiting - hesitating, in all honesty - to bring up. It was just going to be a fairly complicated discussion, she figured, with lots of explanation, and she was concerned that she'd over-complicate things.

Still... She had to tell him. Right? It wasn't like he would necessarily ever find out otherwise; it wasn't like that aspect of the past mattered...

"...Hey, Gobo?"

Damn every last person who had contributed to her having a conscience.

Truth be told he had somewhat dozed off during the silence. Not far enough to've actually fallen asleep, but in that dreamy half-state where your mind is wandering but you're also hyper aware of your surroundings.

So when Lexi spoke he lifted his head but didn't quite open his eyes, a questioning hum in his throat as his answer.

"Okay, uh... Remember the day we got together? I promised I'd tell you something, and I- I'm ready to do that, now."

She gently nudged him away so she could sit up, her hands behind her in the grass, supporting her. A moment to think of how to proceed, then she decided she might as well see if she could avoid any confusion.

"Does the word 'transgender' mean anything to you?"

He moved at the nudge, taking a moment to stretch his arms up and behind his head- should shoulders be able to go that far -and then turned to look at her. Her question had him ponder for a moment, then he shook his head.

"No. What is it?"

"That's- Well, that's kind of a big question," Lexi admitted. "It covers a lot of things, but... Only one of them is relevant to me."

She sighed, glancing away. "It's not a big deal - I mean, I don't like it to be a big deal? - but when I was born, my body was different." She drummed her fingers against the ground rapidly. "I've always been me, but outside didn't always fit that. So when I was a kid, I was thought of as a boy."

While she rambled back and forth in her sentences a bit, he looked at her somewhat confused, but when she reached the end his expression cleared and he sat up some.

"Ohh, that! Yeah, I know what that is. Fraggles just don't have a word for it." At a look on her face, he nodded and continued. "When we get old enough to, a Fraggle decides what they want to be called. It has nothing to do with what our bodies do, like it seems to for some others, even ones who live in the Rock. A Fraggle whose body can have kids can be called a boy if he wants to be. We've got different words for those.

"Heck, that was the decision I made, not long after I started living with Uncle Matt."

Gobo's extended explanation was surprising, but maybe it shouldn't have been. It was like Louie had said, once: Fraggles were good at acceptance.

But- Then. Oh, wow, that was a surprise no matter how you sliced it. Lexi just stared at him, making a slight gesture between the two of them, back and forth. Dumbfounded? Yes. Delighted? Absolutely, judging by the grin on her face.

He looked down at the gesture, then back up at her. After a moment he laughed slightly.

"Yeah, I guess so." He looked at her face, smiling warmly. "It's just part of life for Fraggles, but I can tell it's a big deal for you, so-"

[getrichquick]

Nope, sorry, any further words were getting cut off when she kissed him, simultaneously tackling him in a hug to the ground. A simple kiss, but one she held for a good, long time, before she pulled away and squeezed him tight, laughing.

"I- I- Oh my- I j-"

Screw talking. She was just going to cover his face with kisses.

His tail frizzed out but for a reason far from fright, at the series of kisses all over him. There wasn't much he could do but laugh, but it was a gentle, affectionate sort. Gosh, this really was a big deal for her, wasn't it?

She pulled away and sat back up, shaking her head.

"Okay. That's- That's amazing." She ran a hand through her hair, laughing a bit herself, now. "You're amazing. I can't believe this."

[gobetween]

He kissed her himself, then smiled and nuzzled up under her beak, closing his eyes after a moment and resting there.

"I'm really glad you're happy about this."

[getrichquick]

"I am," she confirmed, holding him close and then falling back to lie down again. "I guess... I'm just still feeling really happy about all of this."

[gobetween]

He sat with her, smiling up at her.

"Guess there's been a lot of that with us, huh?"

[getrichquick]

"There has. I like how you- Well, you understand me. Even though we're so different."

[gobetween]

"Well, understanding people who're different hasn't always been easy, but getting to know the individual has been Fraggles all along. So it all kinda started working together eventually."

[getrichquick]

"Heh, pretty cool," she murmured, running a hand through his hair with a little chuckle. It was nice. This was... Really nice. She'd always felt more comfortable here, and now - having Gobo in her life, this way? It was the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae.
