A venti latte was absolutely crucial to all of Fionna's study sessions, no matter what the time of day. Caffeine seemed to help her focus better than anything else, after all, and really buckle down and get to work. And that was exactly what she needed to do, with her job having left little time for her schoolwork that day.

Being a college student and working part-time retail wasn't the easiest balance, sometimes, but it wasn't the worst thing. And she was finally having the chance to take classes - with other people! - and really learn; find her passion and make a career out of it. Tomorrow's class was CAD Introduction, which meant she'd had to take her laptop to the Starbucks, and set up near an outlet.

Fionna typed and clicked away, stopping now and then to take a sip of her coffee, and not paying much attention to the empty seat across from her. Really, she kept her head down as - both part of her intent focus, and a safeguard, just in case anyone recognized her as the former star of tv's Flower Power.

Someone else for whom caffeine was essential was the heir apparent to McDuck Enterprises. Even though some might be surprised to see such a highly positioned duck coming to a simple Starbucks- IF they recognized him as one, considering he put the 'casual' in 'business casual', in reds of course -he'd been coming to this spot for years, and wasn't going to change now.

As such, his order was rattled off easily, "A grande coffee Frappuccino with two extra shots of espresso, skim milk, four scoops of java chips, and whipped cream with caramel drizzle on top," and tip in hand as he paid for the drink with the other. He received the drink, raised the cup in a little wave, and started winding his way away from the counter. A walk back to the Money Bin, or sitting at a table for a while today, decisions to make.

Fionna couldn't help looking up in curiosity at that order. Was that on the menu? Was it even a real thing? But the duck seemed to have ordered something manageable, as he now had a cup in his hand. Huh, well, to each their own...

Wait, wait, wait. Was that a member of Quackstreet?

It wasn't unmistakable, but it sure looked like one of them. Ooh, but which one, that was the question! She was definitely staring, now.

Something in his peripheral vision must've caught her staring at him, because once he was clear of the rest of the line he paused, glancing her way best he could without outright staring. Someone staring at him wasn't unusual for several reasons (Quackstreet being something like third on the list), so he started to leave until something tugged at the recognition in his brain.

He stopped and looked back, and blinked. That wasn't- Was it?? But what would bring her here, of all places?

So much for not openly staring.

It had been easier to overcome shyness when she was acting - because it was acting. It was all a performance, even when she was herself, making appearances for fans or on talk shows. This kind of situation, however, was way more difficult. But now the duck was staring at her right back, so she had to do something... So she waved at him.

And instantly felt like a total dork.

Oh shoot she's staring back! And waving! He raised his free hand in a return wave, laughing weakly to himself. A sip of coffee for nerves and then he walked over a bit closer, leaning a bit.

"Excuse me, are you Fionna Fischer? From Flower Power?"

Fionna's face turned more deeply red than it already was, and she opened her mouth to - what? Confirm? Protest? Explain? But nothing came out for a few seconds.

"Yeah. Uh, yeah, that's me." She cleared her throat. "You... You look like one of the Quackerstreet musicians?"

Another surprised blink, then he laughed a bit more honestly.

"Yeah! Yeah, that was me." He held his hand out for a shake. "Huey Duck, lead singer."

"That's really cool," she said, relaxing visibly as she shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you, Huey. Oh! Um, if you need a place to sit..." she gestured with her free hand to the spot across from her.

He glanced at the seat, but didn't quite take it yet, giving her a polite smile. "You sure I wouldn't interrupt your work...?"

Fionna smiled and tapped her coffee cup with one finger. "I mean, I'm making good time, thanks to the caffeine," she explained with a bit of a laugh.

Besides, it wasn't every day that she met someone else who had spent time in the spotlight. It felt pretty nice.

Huey smiled, sliding into the offered seat. Honestly he was thinking along the same lines; he knew a few other famous faces, but no one other than his brothers who had quite the same experience of the spotlight. His brothers were great, but sometimes it might be nice to talk to others about it. So here he sat.

"Thanks. Yeah, I know what you mean about the coffee," he snickered, waving his own cup a bit.

Fionna nodded with a puzzled expression. "Right... That was quite the drink order you got," she pointed out, her tone neither teasing nor unkind. From her, it was simply an innocent observation. "What are java chips? I'm stilling getting used to the coffee-made-by-someone-else thing," she added.

She hadn't consumed it as a kid, after all, and hadn't needed such extreme amounts until she'd started college, not all that long ago.

Huey laughed, lifting his drink some. "They're chips but coffee. And you should hear my brother Louie's drink, I think it's the entire menu in the cup. Then there's Dewey who's pretty much black, and maybe a little cream if he's feeling frisky."

She had to stifle a snort of laughter at Huey's description of his brothers' orders. "I just go for maximum caffeine intake, honestly. I'm taking five different classes this semester."

"Five classes!" He whistled, impressed. "That's quite a haul. What's your major?"

"Oh, well..." There came the blush again. "I'm actually just taking courses to figure that out."

"Ahh, that's pretty cool." He relaxed against one arm on the tabletop, sipping at his coffee. "My cousin did a little of that when she went into college not too long ago. She knew she wanted theatre, but experimented a little, too."

"Oh, that's pretty great. Does she act, or is she more on the technical side of a production?" Fionna asked, as she returned to her typing. It seemed okay, but now, to do so - hopefully he'd realize she was still paying attention.

"She started out technical, but recently there was a musical put on by her school and she got one of the lead parts, whcih was really cool."

"Yeah, that is cool," Fionna said with a smile, briefly glancing up at Huey. "Is her career goal live theater? Or does she want to apply what she's learning to screen acting?"
