He snickered some at that and shook his head. "No, were. W-e-r-e. It's an ancient word that means 'human' so, werewolf is basically saying, 'wolf that looks like a man.'"
An idea occurred to him and he grinned, then braced up on his hands and swung himself backward a few inches until he could stand up. "Maybe seeing the werewolf instead of just the wolf will make sense." Standing upright, he closed his eyes and brought his hands in front of him, taking in a long, deep breath. His expression tensed, and the same magic from before passed him over. This seemed a bit more difficult of a transformation in that it took longer, the swirls of light and color passing over the ground in sharp gusts that buffeted the two Fraggles. Daniel's form grew, gaining in bulk and height, and even in the glow qualities of the wolf could be seen- pointed ears, a long shaggy tail, fur covering him. When it faded it revealed him in his entireity, a creature that was not a wolf, not a man, but a blend of the two. He was already taller than a normal person so he absolutely loomed over the two tiny Fraggles, but he grinned and leaned down, placing his hands against the earth and nosing Mokey gently.
"See? This is what it really looks like." His voice, like his new form, was bigger. It came from the depths of his throat and thrummed through one's chest when they heard it, but it was still his own. "The wolf you saw before is what I use when I want to be... slightly... more inconspicuous."
