As the last notes of their duet faded away into the light, he found his eyes still locked on her. Something else made sense inside him now; the adventures they took together, the time they spent, Mokey always wanting to share art or poems with him first... How long...?

No, none of that mattered. Like she didn't regret the time spent in the Rock before leaving, he didn't regret the time before he realized how she felt. How he felt. All that mattered was the way it was right now, in this moment between the two of them.

But, suddenly, he found himself a bit tongue-tied. Sure, admitting in song was one thing, but actually saying something-? He swallowed, and he felt himself get a little red under the fur. "Ah- Mokey, I..." He raised a hesitant hand, then smiled and brushed it along her cheek. Maybe words wouldn't be needed. Leaning forward, he nuzzled along her snout, lingered there nearly cheek to cheek, breathing the moment in. His hand, still on hers, laced fingers, and he leaned back enough that he could kiss her.
